Halloween Trick-or-Treating 2024

For Halloween trick-or-treating, Eagle Landing has become the community of choice for families and teenagers throughout Oakleaf and Middleburg. With each year that goes by, Eagle Landing has experienced growing throngs of crowds eager to accept the generosity that our residents provide. Halloween 2023 brought some extra added challenges that negatively impacted the community, despite the presence of four off-duty CCSO officers hired by the CDD Board to help keep the peace and maintain order for a four-hour period. Impassable streets and disorderly conduct from outside forces were just a few of the issues experienced. The distribution of free alcohol and the parking of food trucks, while good meaning, also contributed to potentially unsafe situations.

For Halloween 2024, Eagle Landing's CDD and HOA have teamed up to collaborate with the Clay County Sheriff's Office to provide the safest, most organized environment possible for families to enjoy Halloween in our community.

1. The CDD and HOA will hire more than twice the number of off-duty Sheriffs (including a Sheriff Supervisor) for this Halloween, bringing to nine the total number of law enforcement officers on site.

2. Key high-volume streets will be staffed and may be restricted to vehicular traffic during times as directed by CCSO. Only foot traffic and golf carts would be allowed (with the exception of homeowners living on those streets) on those streets.

3. A QR Code digital pamphlet will be provided to assist Halloween goers to locate parking locations and to safely navigate entry/exit routes.

4. Eagle Landing residents are strongly encouraged NOT to provide alcohol to Halloween goers.

5. Also, discouraged are any vehicles parked on the streets but, especially no food trucks should be parked on any street within Eagle Landing.

6. It has been recommended by CCSO that Halloween generosity (distribution of goodies) end at 9:00pm It will be important for all residents to do their part to facilitate a fun but safe environment for Halloween 2024.
